Before I set-up my photography business, I spent more than 20years working in international PR & Marketing. So, becoming a Marketing Photographer was a natural step in my career.
I love creating eye-catching images that grab your customers’ attention. My clients range from the National Trust, to local magazines, children’s nurseries, small businesses and renowned family websites.
EMOTION, EMOTION, EMOTION
For me, a great photo needs to create an emotion within the person looking at it. It might be wonder at a child jumping off a log, or the mystery of a candid fly-on-the-wall photo. It’s the intrigue that captures your customers’ attention and draws them into learn more.
IT’S ALL IN THE BRIEF!
Please don’t worry if you’ve never written a brief for a marketing photographer before. It’s basically an opportunity to tell me about your marketing aims and goals. This can either be via a written brief or we can arrange a time to chat over the phone.
The brief for this front cover was to showcase a local children’s attraction and incorporate a child into the photo. I also needed to allow space for the masthead (the magazine title) and promotional copy to sit at the bottom.
The photo below is one of a series I shot for Cliveden National Trust to promote its Christmas Pantomime trail. The brief was to show the family having fun whilst wearing pantomime clothes. It became one of the key images of the campaign and the photos appeared on promotional flyers, adverts, websites and emails.
Sometimes photos need to document a process. In this case, I was asked to document the production of a parish magazine. The magazine in question happened to feature one of my photos on the front cover. You can see the entire story by clicking here.
Toddler Group Ride On Time, asked me along to photograph one of its play sessions. I captured an array of images with and without children which it has used extensively for advertising, online promotions and marketing campaigns.
PROOF IS IN THE RESULTS
The images below were taken at Brookes University climbing wall and used by family website Red Kite Days. The website had already published a story about the climbing wall, but wanted to update the photos. They saw a marked increase in website traffic due to the colourful, engaging images that grabbed parent’s interest. You can see for yourself by Clicking here and visiting Red Kite Days.
