KIDS, AND THEIR TONGUES, RUN FREE!
Once a month, my family photographer hat is hung up, the shutter speed on my camera is cranked up. That’s because I become a budding sport photographer for Kids Run Free in Banbury.
A nationwide initiative, it invites children, ranging from toddlers to teenagers, to run as many laps as they can. The aim is to ignite and enhance their passion for sport and so I’m there to capture their enthusiasm every step of the way! My images are then shared via an online gallery that let’s them relive their amazing achievements and share it with friends and family.
CAUGHT ON CAMERA!
Every month the children inspire me with their determination, dedication and commitment to sport. But recently I spotted something extra! It seems, it’s not just their big smiles, pounding legs or bright sportswear, but in February my images seemed to be full of little pink tongues! As each child ran past me, there was tongue, after tongue, after tongue hanging out for all to see! It was like watching a pack of panting greyhounds run past me! And I promise none of them were stuck out for the camera on purpose!
Fast forward to March’s run and there was another little quirky mannerism on display! For their tongues were now replaced with very active arms! From lots of outstretched arms, to holding hands or hugging each other around the final lap!
Take a look below and see for yourself! And why not join us in April? It doesn’t matter if sport isn’t your thing, it’s about having a go!
